City officials say one or more people tested positive for COVID-19 after a recent eviction protest

Rochester officials say they want to know that one or more people who took part in the protest against an evacuation on Friday, December 18, on Glasgow Street in Cornhill, later tested positive for COVID-19.

The city says that although they do not know exactly where and when the individual became infected or if there was any exposure to the demonstration, officials wanted to make a public announcement out of an abundance of precaution, so others who were present at the event are aware of exposure potential.

The city of Rochester transmitted the information to the Department of Public Health of Monroe County.

The Rochester Police Department follows established protocols to ensure that any officer present is also aware of this information and receives COVID-19 testing.
