King Felipe VI clearly shows his position in the face of the controversy of King Juan Carlos I.

Everyone expected King Philip VI to rule on the latest controversies over his father and the position he had chosen when dealing with the legal issues he had above. Although he did not mention his name, he spoke about the delicate situation the emeritus is going through and, in a way, he clearly expressed his opinion.

“Moral and ethical principles bind us all without exception; and I am above all consideration, of any nature, even of people or relatives ”, with these statements King Felipe VI alluded to the complicated situation in which his house lives, especially the decline of the media that King Juan Carlos I has been suffering from it since the beginning of the year.

And we cannot forget that, although for the vast majority of spectators and citizens, King Felipe VI is that, the king of the country and the head of state, he is also “his son”. It is not easy to speak ill or show such a clear opinion on the issue of the emeritus, especially since he is outside Spain after his abandonment last August.

Alluding to these moral and ethical principles that he undertook in his proclamation before the General Courts in 2014, King Philip VI was the most direct: “It obliges us ALL without exception,” giving up what everyone else does. I expected to hear: “above relatives”.

A Christmas that could be called the saddest for the Royal House that had to completely separate from the King Emeritus because of the ongoing controversies it has caused with the events that have taken place in recent months. Don Juan Carlos I did not return to Spain for Christmas and many say it was a decision made by his son, being the best for everyone.
