The window collapses on the 53rd floor of the Midtown, Manhattan building in New York

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) – On Thursday night, a glass panel fell on West 58th Street in Manhattan.

The New York Department of Buildings says it fell from the 53rd floor of a tall building on Billionaire’s Row around 5 p.m.

Investigators say the section of the 11-foot-by-2-foot window was previously damaged before it fell.
