The man from Long Island steals the tractor, hits the target: cops

Good morning shopping for a man from Long Island was not a real success.

Police said a 33-year-old Deer Park man got behind the wheel of a 2010 Bobcat tractor parked at a Bay Shore mall and drove through the front doors of a local Target store.

Justin Shuffle allegedly drove back outside, parked his tractor and went back into the store – where police said he went into a mini-theft.

When police showed up shortly before 2 a.m., they caught Shuffle in the electronics department with a $ 78 coat and a handful of Target gift cards, police said.

“It is a very naughty act to use a piece of electrical construction equipment to break down a store door,” said Sgt. Jeffrey Walker told The Post on Thursday.

“Looks like there really wasn’t a big plan here,” Walker said. “It seemed like a one-shot deal.”

Shuffle was charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft.

He was sent to trial on Christmas morning in the First Court in Central Islip, police said.

It was unclear whether he was ordered to be detained on bail, but the two charges are not eligible for bonds under the state’s criminal justice reform law, police said.

A call to Shuffle’s house has not been returned.
