In their first training match against a Division I team, the FC Juárez Braves lost 4-1 yesterday to Diablos del Toluca at the Nemesio Diez stadium. The goal of the Braves was from William Mendieta.
The border team surpassed the ranks yesterday and must appear in Juárez on Saturday to continue the preparations for the Clausura 2021 tournament of the MX League.
Los Bravos, led by Luis Fernando Tena, faced and defeated in the previous days the Under-20 teams from America and Toluca.
For the Mexicans, yesterday was the third training game under coach Hernán Cristante.
Bravos and Diablos played two 45-minute halves each yesterday and Mexico opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Hedgardo Marín committed a hand in the area and referee Víctor Cáceres did not hesitate to score the maximum penalty. Ecuadorian Joao Plata took care of the loading and did it with his right foot to defeat the goalkeeper Enrique Palos.
Toluca’s second challenge came in the 24th minute, when Pedro Alexis Canelo sent a cross into the box, which was completed by Plata’s right foot to place the ball at the back of the net.
76 minutes into the match, Juarenses came close to leveling the score with a dangerous shot from the center of the area that went just over the bar. Wiliam Mendieta’s curling free kick almost found the goal for chorizo, but the visitors’ keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
In the last minutes, Juarez’s defense lost concentration on two occasions and this opened the door for the 80th minute Kevin Castañeda to praise his powerful shot from distance from the middle, the ball first hit the post and then went to the pot 3 -1.
After 86 minutes, Alan Medina came in from the left, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 – 0, giving Enrique Triverio the lead.
The Juarense team will report again on Saturday, December 26, at this border and on Monday 28 will organize a new friendly match, now against Cimarrones de Sonora (MX Ezpansión League team) at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium.
