The WCC reported 30 road accidents in the last hours, with three deaths and 48 people affected

The figures for traffic accidents and intoxications caused by alcohol consumption are the most prevalent this Thursday on Christmas Eve.

The Director of the Center for Operations and Emergencies (COE), Juan Manuel Méndez, reported this morning 30 accidents that occurred during the Christmas Operation “Commitment for Life 2020” that began yesterday Wednesday at 2:00 pm and its closed at 6:00 on Thursday morning.

Of those accidents, three people traveling in their vehicles were killed. One of the deaths took place in Boca Chica and the other two in Bonao. While those affected by accidents total 48.

There are 22 motorcycles involved in the number of accidents, the largest number of vehicles affected. The others correspond to 7 light vehicles and two heavy vehicles.

On the other hand, Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata are the provinces at the top of the list for the care of alcohol intoxication from yesterday Wednesday until 6:00 on Thursday morning.

A total of 21 people were treated for intoxication due to alcohol consumption and at least 26 people for food poisoning.

Méndez considered the number of accidents that were recorded in less than 24 hours to be “very high” because there was a greater flow of traffic for the Christmas holidays.
