Lorenzo Méndez responds to the divorce application filed by Chiquis Rivera.
Despite strong rumors of a possible reconciliation, Chiquis Rivera and Lorenzo Méndez are close to formalizing their divorce after announcing a few months ago that they have decided to end their marriage, which lasted just over a year.
For his part, Méndez has already responded to the divorce lawsuit filed by Chiquis Rivera in mid-October at the Superior Court in Los Angeles, California, which was made known exclusively by the entertainment show “Ventaneando”.
According to the legal document, Lorenzo Méndez claims that he agrees to the dissolution of Chiquis Rivera’s marriage in accordance with the laws of the state of California. In it, the interpreter stipulates that the physical separation with his wife took place on 16 September 2020.
In a section of his response to the divorce application, Méndez claims that the separation is due to “irreconcilable differences” and confirmed that at the time of his marriage to Rivera they did so for separate assets. However, the singer did not want to list the assets in his custody or in joint custody with Chiquis.
On November 30, 2020, the legal document in response to the divorce application was presented by Lorenzo Méndez to the Superior Court of Los Angeles. In it, the star demands the payment of her lawyers by Chiquis Rivera.
In a complaint filed by Chiquis Rivera in September, the singer asked Méndez to take over the fees of his lawyers and pointed out that both parties gave up receiving a type of pension because they married under a prenuptial agreement. .
The divorce proceedings of Chiquis Rivera and Lorenzo Méndez also stipulated that both parties had restraining orders throughout the separation process and that this applies anywhere in the state of California.
At that time, Méndez had to respond to the divorce application within 30 days, and if that did not happen, the Court could issue orders that would significantly affect him, including: Payment of fees and legal costs. However, it is currently unknown whether this could have been applied to the singer for the delayed response to the complaint.
