After Sam Smith praised Celine Dion’s iconic song It’s All Coming Back to Me Now as one of his favorite vocal performances, Dion offered some praise right back.
Smith, 28, spoke of Dion’s 52-year-old song from 1996 in an interview with Pitchfork on Tuesday, describing the song as “outrageous.”
Dion joined Twitter only a few hours later, popping up on them in a candid tweet about the British singer.

During the interview, Smith described Dion’s performance as “so dramatic,” adding that “vocal performance is out of this world.”
They added that her voice has a “tone and clarity that just pierces you”, adding that you can, “you hear her personality when she sings”.
Smith said that the “basis” of all their musical knowledge were singers such as Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Chaka Khan, “women who would sit in the middle of a stage and sing and do nothing but sing.”

“Aww, thank you so much @samssmith,” Dion began posting from her heart before remembering their last meeting.
“It was great to see you in London last year and forget about me – I think you’re so amazing !! Be careful … I hope to see you soon. Celine xx … ”she concluded.

Earlier, Smith spoke about Dion in November last year, after writing for The Lover That I Lost for her new album.

Smith, who announced in 2019 that he is not binary and uses pronouns, recently told them about the trauma he faced after making this announcement.
