Judge José Alejandro Vargas postponed until December 28 the hearing of the objection to the opinion of the Public Ministry, which ordered the final filing of the accusations against eight defendants of the Odebrecht bribe.
The judge adopted the measure to make it possible to refer different courts to different defendants, to guarantee the right to equality.
The objection to the opinion of the Public Ministry was presented by the civil society organization Alianza Ciudadana, which understands that the case file was adopted illegally and irregularly.
They were favored with the opinion of the Public Ministry, Temístocles Montás, Julio César Valentín, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco; Rudy González, César Sánchez, Bernardo Castellanos, Máximo de Óleo and Radhamés Segura.
The coordinating judge of the investigative court was appointed from this case, after Judge Keila Pérez, from the first instance, was detained, claiming that he has friendly relations with the former deputy Rudy González, one of the favorites in the final case.
The entity of the Citizens’ Alliance requests the revocation of the opinion and orders the reopening of the file, the continuation of the investigations in connection with the eight persons.
The defense of the defendants says that it is not legally registered, for which it cannot sue, but its representative, the lawyer Evelin Torres, indicated that these questions will be disseminated by the court through a hearing.
