One of the men accused of attempting to assassinate Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny mistakenly confessed to the plot in a startling deception by Navalny himself. According to Bellingcat, a member of the FSB’s alleged poison group described the assassination plot in a phone call with a man he thought was a top security official – but it was actually Navalny. The recording of a call shows Konstantin Kudryavtsev describing how his team carried out the plot and how they tried to clear his evidence. Most dramatically, the agent describes how the nerve agent that poisoned Navalny was applied to a pair of underwear. Navalny asked, “What piece of cloth did you focus on?” Kudryavtsev replied: “Panties.” After Navalny asked for more details about the exact spot where the nerve agent was applied to the underwear, Kudryavstev replied, “Well, the legs, as they call them.”
