Dolly Parton’s sister hits politicians over the vaccine

A tweet sent over the weekend by Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella, criticizing politicians over the coronavirus vaccine went viral, The Hill reported on Sunday.

Stella Parton, herself a country music singer, referring to her sister’s donation to support research into the Moderna coronavirus vaccine, wrote on Twitter that “If a little Hillbilly singer, like my big sister Dolly, can invest in the vaccine, then why the hell do some of you old moldy politicians fail to introduce you to a few million yourself?”

The tweet has generated more than 350,000 likes in the past two days and came as lawmakers continued to try to reach an agreement on coronavirus rescue legislation, which was finally reached late Sunday.

Stella Parton also criticized politicians who “immediately started getting vaccinated while people were starving and dying.”

Hill pointed out, however, that some in the public service have done so to instill confidence in the vaccine among the general population, amid fears that it could be harmful.

He also poured out his anger against the telemarketers in another tweet writing that “I haven’t heard of a telemarketer donating a damn penny to the research fund, but they can certainly leave the flock and try to drive out the demons when they’re in control!”
