President Luis Abinader led the ribbon-cutting together with the director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Mario Lama, of Pedro Emilio de Marchena Hospital and Clinical Center for Diagnosis and Primary Care in Bonao City this Sunday, buildings that will benefit more than 60 thousand people who have medical assistance.
The building in Pedro Emilio de Marchena Hospital, delivered by the Government to the National Health Service (SNS), will be operational in the next few days after the staff that will provide assistance to users has been trained.
The center has 16 offices, three for pediatrics, three for gynecology and obstetrics, six general, two for dentistry and two for ophthalmology; special areas for tuberculosis and vaccines, in addition to a modern laboratory, imaging area, consisting of 32-slice tomography, mammography, densitometry, sonography, echocardiography and an X-ray room.
Also, the surgical block of the hospital has two operating rooms and two delivery rooms with the corresponding pre-surgical and post-surgical rooms, antepartum and postpartum.
The executive director of SNS, Dr. Mario Lama, underlined the importance of starting this center, which closes an important health gap in this province of the country.
“With the delivery of this hospital, residents of Bonao and nearby areas will save time and money on transportation when they need health services,” he added.
The center is located on Las Hortensias Boulevard, next to the Duarte Motorway.
