DAVIE, Florida – DeVante Parker, the leader of the Miami Dolphins, is expected to play Sunday against the New England Patriots, despite a minor hamstring strain, an ESPN source said.
Parker suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and did not return, but trained throughout the week and looked good in preparation for the game. He was listed as questionable in the injury report, but with the exception of any preliminary matches, the surprise should be that the Dolphins have the gun on top.
It will be especially important for the Dolphins offense for Parker to consider how hard he has been hit by injuries and COVID-19 in the past two weeks. Mike Gesicki (shoulder), receiver Jakeem Grant (hamstring) and runner Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) are in question for Sunday’s match, while runner Myles Gaskin will miss the game due to COVID-19.
Parker has become a top priority to play through with pain, after being criticized early in his career for being prone to injury. Broadband, which leads the team with 56 catches for 677 meters and four touchdowns, is on track to play 16 games for the second consecutive season.
