91 commercial flights were scheduled this Friday by Las Américas

Santo Domingo, RD.

The air traffic of passengers and flights from Las Américas International Airport (AILA), José Francisco Peña Gómez to various destinations increased on Friday with the scheduling of 91 commercial return flights to the United States, Europe, South America and Central America.

The Dominican Airports XXI (AERODOM) flight operations center has scheduled the arrival of 46 flights and 45 departures through the airport terminal to and from various destinations.

According to the data provided, of the 91 operations scheduled for this Friday, 41 come from cities in the United States.

The planes were leaving the Las Américas terminal, with a considerable percentage of passengers, respecting the physical distance and the health protocol.

Despite the crisis affecting air passenger transport due to the effects of Covid-19, the situation is beginning to reactivate in terms of the increase in flight and passenger operations by AILA.

Airport authorities attribute the increase in the departure and arrival of flights and passengers to the fact that many people already in the country and in the United States have received the vaccine against Covid-19.

The airlines that operate routes from Santo Domingo to North America are American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Delta, Spirit and United Airlines. They had a greater influx of travelers than in previous days.

Meanwhile, the flow of passengers to the nations of the European continent, South and Central America, flight and passenger operations have also intensified.

The airlines Copa Airlines, Iberia, Air France to Madrid, Spain, Paris, France, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia and other nations left and arrived this Friday with a considerable percentage of occupancy.

Aerodom authorities have the perception that, because the population is vaccinated in the same order, passenger traffic will intensify in the country.
