Silver and Black lasted a good 13 years, but on Tuesday, Apple ended and began a new colorful chapter for its all-in-one Mac, the iMac. Colors are not all new; The iMac features the new Apple M1 system on one chip, new sizes and more. Here are the top five features of Apple’s new MFP:
New design with a rainbow of colors
IMac is now available in blue, green, orange, pink, purple and silver, which matches the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. (Maybe you can even pair it with a colorful iPad Air if you bought one recently.)
The new iMac has a sleek, minimal look compared to its predecessor. The frame around the display is much smaller than on the previous iMac, but it still has a “chin” under the screen that houses the internal components of the iMac (although it is much thinner). Barbia does not have the Apple logo on the front. Instead, it’s on the back, where you’ll also find two Thunderbolt ports and two USB-C ports. The conical design has disappeared, and the new iMac is now 11.5 millimeters thick.

Apple offers input devices that match the color of the iMac.

The power of M1
IMac is the latest Mac with its own Apple chip system, followed by Mac mini, 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. IMac has the same M1 chip launched by Apple last year. Here’s a quick look at the specs:
- 5 nanometer process technology
- 8-core CPU
- 7- or 8-core graphics processor (GPU)
- Neural motor with 16 nuclei
- 8 GB or 16 GB RAM
- 256 GB or 512 GB SSD
24-inch Retina display 4.5K
The new iMac is available in one size, with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display – right between the 21-inch and 27-inch Intel Macs – which has 11.3 million pixels and support for the wide range of P3 colors. over a billion colors, 500 nits of brightness and True Tone. Apple treats the display with an anti-reflective coating to help readability.

The iMac still has a chin, but the frames around the screen are much smaller. Pictured here in orange.
Apple
Touch ID
It was on Apple MacBooks, and now Touch ID is making its debut on a desktop Mac. The iMac comes with a new wireless Magic keyboard with a Touch ID button in the upper right corner. Touch ID is standard on the $ 1,499 and $ 1,699 models with an 8-core GPU, but if you want it on the $ 1,299 iMac with a 7-core GPU, you’ll need to add it as an option and pay extra. Apple has not said how much the new keyboard costs and does not appear to be available separately

Apple
Designed for video conferencing
Apple finally updated the FaceTime camera when it updated the 27-inch iMac last year, but did not change the 720p camera to the 21.5-inch model. Fortunately, the new iMac has a 1080p FaceTime camera and, if it’s something similar to the 27-inch model, it’s a good one, with excellent image quality, better light handling and good color consistency.
Along with the camera, Apple also includes an array of three microphones that are in place on the iMac, so you don’t get feedback from your computer. The microphones support “directional beam formation” to help filter background noise as you speak.
Apple calls the iMac speakers “the best sound system ever on a Mac.” It has six speakers, two pairs of force-canceling woofers and two high-performance tweeters. Apple also uses “advanced algorithms” to support spatial sound.
