4 candidates to replace Chuck Pagano as Bears defensive coordinator

When looking at young rising defensive coaches, the Bears have to start with defensive line coach Jay Rodgers. Rodgers has been on the team since the era of John Fox and it is easy to understand why, given the defensive line, he was one of the best units of that period.

Rodgers served as assistant / defensive coach at the Broncos from 2009-2014 before joining Fox in Chicago, where he served as coach of Bears’ defensive line.

While Rodgers doesn’t have the experience of a defensive coordinator like the others on this list, everyone has to start somewhere. Look at Brandon Staley, a former Bears coach who went on to become Rams’ defensive coordinator. Chicago should consider Rodgers for the job.
