3 things mean the return of Tyson Alualu for the Steelers

If nothing better came from the COVID-19 pandemic, the recantation of Tyson Alualu by the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of them. Alualu was supposed to plan to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars this season and the Steelers should figure out how to replace him.

But Alualu is back and this is great for the Steelers. Here are the three great things Alualu is doing for Pittsburgh.

The injury bug hit the middle of the Steelers defense last season. Inside striker Devin Bush and Alualu missed time and the entire defense suffered. If the Steelers will count on Robert Spillane in the middle all season, Alualu in front of him makes me much more comfortable.

Steelers have significant project needs on both sides of football. Getting Alualu’s signing with Pittsburgh could have a serious effect on the draft and give the Steelers more leverage to focus earlier on the offensive side of the ball.

Alualu is now the second owner of the Steelers to face a free agency that decides to return to Pittsburgh with more money on the table elsewhere. This is the kind of culture that winning franchises have.
