The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new defensive coordinator in 2021 with the news that Jim Schwartz will resign next season to assess his future.
Schwartz was the Lions head coach from 2009-2013, setting a record of 29-51 with a single playoff move in 2011.
Here are three news commercials:
Schwartz is probably dealing with exhaustion
Schwartz previously took a year off in 2015, between leaving the Bills and taking up the Eagles job.
The Philadelphia defense has been injured and injured since the 2017 Super Bowl and this season, Schwartz had to deal with serious injuries in high school and especially in the corner position.
After starting under Bill Belichick, Schwartz was eventually named linebacker and defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans from 1999-2008, before becoming Detroit Lions head coach from 2009-2013.
Schwartz served as Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator in 2014, before taking a year off and joining the Eagles.
Doug Pederson alluded to the movement

The Eagles head coach referred to Schwartz during his final zoom pressure from Friday’s regular season, analyzing their relationship in detail.
“I tell you, our relationship has evolved enormously,” Pederson said Friday. “I think we have been more on the same page over the years, I get to know him every year and we understand him as a coach and coordinator. Obviously, his defenses have historically been top defenses in the National Football League. Of course, when the boys are healthy and all that. “

Schwartz used a Wide-9 front that focused on stepping and forward pressure, but his secondary and secondary units struggled to maintain that pressure on the backend.
The next defensive coordinator could be asked to focus more on generating big turnovers and games, to move away from the curve and not to break the pattern while focusing more on dictating the pace of opposing crimes.
Defensive linebacker Matt Burke could be an option after previously playing the role with the Dolphins, while Marquand Manuel also has experience as a coordinator.
