2021 North American International Auto Show canceled due to a pandemic

DETROIT – On Monday, the North American International Motor Show announced that it will not hold the annual event in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2020, NAIAS also canceled the event due to the pandemic. The show was canceled last year after it was announced that the Detroit TCF Center would become a temporary hospital for COVID patients.

Because the event is canceled this year, the show officials revealed a “bridge to the future” with a self-centered event called Motor Bella.

“The new event will bring the mobility of the next generation and the debut of interesting vehicles in the media, spectators and the world of car enthusiasts in a never experienced way, while addressing the ongoing concerns of COVID-19 regarding interior events,” reads in -a statement from Motor Bella.

Motor Bella will take place between September 21-26, 2021 at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac.

“The pandemic has brought about change in society and our world in unpredictable ways and we should all look for new and highly creative ways to do business,” said Rod Alberts, executive director of the Association of Car Dealers and NAIAS.

“This new event captures that creative spirit. It will provide new mobility experiences and increasingly innovative approaches to using the industry and its products. “

Alberts said participants can expect a multi-sensory experience at the new event. “This outdoor venue, with its adrenaline pumping track activities and a full range of OEM and technology exhibits, will offer views, sounds and even the smell of everything the new world of mobility has to offer,” he said. .
