2 people, service dog, Delta flight through emergency slide while driving to New York’s LaGuardia Airport

EAST ELMHURST, Queens – Two people opened the cabin door and got off a plane through the emergency slide at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Monday morning.

Delta Airlines Flight 462 was heading to Atlanta and was leaving by plane when the incident occurred.

Delta officials said a group of two opened the door and slid out with a service dog.

The plane then returned to the gate where other passengers disembarked and were put on alternative flights.

The aircraft was checked by maintenance technicians after the incident before being put back into operation.

The passengers were later identified as Antonio Murdock, 31, and Brianna Greco, 23, both from Florida.

Authorities say Murdock said the post-traumatic stress caused him and his companion to grab his service dog and jump on the emergency slide.

Murdock is charged with second-degree criminal malice, second-degree reckless threat and third-degree criminal offense, while Greco is charged with third-degree criminal offense.

The small dog, named Rain, was handed over to Animal Control and Care and was expected to be returned to the owner.

Murdock claimed that PTSD from prison for a previous robbery was triggered by the limited space of the plane.
