12 unforgettable statistics from the historic 2020 Packers season

The Green Bay Packers have just ended one of the most impressive regular seasons in the franchise’s long history.

Matt LaFleur’s team finished 13-3 and finished No. 1 in the conference, the offense scored 509 NFL points and 66 touchdowns, both in second place in franchise history, and defender Aaron Rodgers is likely to win third MVP adjudication.

Here are all the unforgettable stats from the Packers’ historic 2020 season:

1 More touchdowns than points

More Packers drives ended with Aaron Rodgers (48) touchdown passes than JK Scott points (47, including a blocked point). The Packers became only the fourth team in NFL history to have more touchdown passes than points in a single season. The 47 points were the lowest in a single season in the team’s history.

2 More Davante Adams touchdowns than Mason Crosby’s field goals

More Packers actions ended in Davante Adams’ touchdowns (18) than Mason Crosby’s (16) field goals. Amazingly, Adams actually scored more total points (108) than Crosby (107), a real rarity for a team with a healthy kicker capable of 16 games. 18 touchdown catches from Adams equaled the team’s record and he ranks third of all time, while Crosby made all 16 goal attempts.

3 Domination of the red zone

The Packers scored touchdowns on 48 of 60 trips to the red zone, or what the team calls the “golden zone.” The offense had an 80% touchdown conversion rate inside the 20-yard line, five percentage points better than the second-best team in the NFL (Tennessee Titans, 75.0%). According to the team, the Packers’ touchdown percentage in the red zone was the highest in the NFL in the last 40 seasons.

4 All touchdowns

Defender Aaron Rodgers set new records with 48 touchdown passes and 51 total touchdowns. His 48 touchdown passes tied Dan Marino for the fifth time of all time. Rodgers has never thrown for more than four touchdown passes in a single game, but has had four touchdown passes in seven different games, the third largest in NFL history.

5 Consistent excellence

According to the team, Aaron Rodgers set new NFL records for games with a pass rating of at least 100.0 (14), games with at least three touchdown passes and a pass rating of at least 100.0 (12), and games with at least three touchdowns and zero interceptions (10). The beauty of Rodgers’ season was the consistency of the game at the elite level.

6 30 or more

Packers scored 30 or more points in 12 different games. Matt LaFleur’s team actually had as many games with 40 or more points (four) as games under 30 (four). The Packers were once held below 20 points.

7 11 different touchdown sensors

Eleven different players caught landing passes from Aaron Rodgers in 2020: Davante Adams (18), Robert Tonyan (11), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (6), Allen Lazard (3), Marcedes Lewis (3), Aaron Jones ( 2), Jamaal Williams (1), Equanimeous St. Brown (1), Malik Taylor (1), Jace Sternberger (1) and Dominique Dafney (1).

8 Lead percentage completion

Defender Aaron Rodgers finished as the NFL leader in percentages of completion. He completed 70.7% of his passes, just ahead of Drew Brees (70.5) and Deshaun Watson (70.2). Rodgers completed only 62.0% of his subscriptions in 2019, and his previous career was 68.3. He finished 10 games with a completion rate of 70.0 or better.

9 Tonyan touchdowns

Robert Tonyan caught just 10 passes in total during the 2019 season. He caught 11 touchdown passes in 2020, tying the most among the tight ends in the NFL and equaling the team record.

10 Deep threat

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had some premature declines, but he also led all NFL players qualified in yards on catches to 20.9. His 33 catches gained 620 meters. He equaled for the NFL maximum with six catches of 40 yards or more, and his six touchdowns averaged 43.7 yards per catch.

11 One and two

Defender Aaron Rodgers now holds the two best passing qualifiers in a single season in NFL history. He finished at 121.5 in 2020, just one point below his NFL record of 122.5, set in 2011.

12 Jaire Island

Jaire Alexander, a Pro Bowler corner for the first time, allowed just 4.8 yards on a try to throw in his cover for Pro Football Focus. He gave up just two touchdown passes while breaking another 13 passes and committing a single penalty.
