Video shows man’s anti-Asian rant against NYPD police in protest

An unhinged man was caught during a protest in Manhattan on a police bodycam video going on in a mean, racist protest against an Asian-American NYPD detective.

The officer, a 16-year veteran of the force, was assigned to a march near the Stonewall Inn on March 11 when a protester approached him and began spitting out anti-Asian insults, according to sources with knowledge of the incident.

‘Suck the dk, py of a dog. Then cook it and eat it in front of your mother, ”the man tells the officer, according to footage of the shocking incident obtained by The Post.

He then tells the officer to have “a damn tea party” before repeating the word “soy sauce” with a mocking accent.

The creep ends his snide story by asking the officer if he would put it on the “lunch special.”

Sources said racist verbal attacks on minority cops like these have “skyrocketed” since last summer, when the city was rocked by protests against racism and police brutality.

The officer who was the target of this incident considered filing a complaint, but reconsidered, believing that the harassment may not have risen to the level of a hate crime according to the sources.

It comes amid a wave of attacks against people of Asian descent in the Big Apple and across the country.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said last week that police should ‘confront’ people accused of ‘hurtful’ behavior – even if the behavior doesn’t rise to the level of a crime.

When asked if the NYPD and the city could do more to thwart the troubling spike in hate crimes against Asians, De Blasio suggested the warnings could be a last resort.

Sources said the man who unleashed the tirade is known to the police, having previously been arrested on charges of terrorist threat and severe harassment.

Paul DiGiacomo, president of the Detectives’ Endowment Association, told The Post that the incident was “disgusting and despicable” – but also “not surprising at all.”

“This is the sad reality that the police are dealing with and that the foolish politicians have invited,” said the union head.

The detective involved “deserves a lot of credit for his calm response,” added DiGiacomo.
