Venture back into the underworld to wrap yourself in front of Hades’ excellent Yule logs

Holidays are near, which means that in the long-standing tradition of the Internet, it’s time for news, videos with the Yule diary. And this year brings a great new entry: a roaring fireplace in the House of Hades, from Supergiant Games Hades.

The video is in clear 4K format, showing the wonderful art of the game (one of our favorites this year): the fireplace is adorned in gilded skulls and opulent marble, while the creeping pomegranates add a splash of color to the procedures. There are also the essential sounds of any good log in Yule: the roar of a fireplace, with the clear, crackled sound of logs. (There exists Hades whirling, with murmurs and echoes from the depths of the house, whispering right at the edge of hearing.)

Yule’s diary pairs perfectly with Hades itself, which is on sale for the holidays at $ 20 on the Nintendo Switch.

The new Hades the video joins the long-running canon of great virtual fireplaces to wrap around them, such as the WarnerMedia Eye of Sauron Yule diary, Darth Vader’s slowly burning corpse, Nick Offerman’s relaxing scotch session, and The VergeYule 2016’s own explosive gadgets (commemorating the Galaxy Note 7 and the hoverboard fires that dominated that year’s headlines).

The video only lasts 12 hours, but you can turn it on anytime (and again and again and again) until the holidays are over (or you’ve finally left the underworld).
