Samsung Galaxy is now the exclusive mobile partner of Twitch Rivals, a year-long deal that will see companies collaborate on exclusive events and Twitch content.

The partnership checks a lot of boxes for Samsung. First of all, it helps to increase the range of Samsung Galaxy products and, more precisely, its suite of 5G compatible mobile devices. Second, it’s a smart move for a display and mobile device maker at a time in history when more people play as ever. Touching the Twitch stream network at a time when he saw a explosion in spectators it certainly doesn’t hurt at all.

Twitch Rivals and Samsung will be partners for a series of mobile challenges, promoting mobile game superstars and tournaments through a regular series called Mobile Mondays presented by Samsung, which will distribute cash prizes. Obviously, Samsung has managed to sweeten the pot for Galaxy and Twitch users with “additional benefits”. While it’s not clear what these bonus benefits will entail, it’s certainly a smart way to sell some phones.

“Samsung’s flagship mobile gaming devices will allow players to not only stream their favorite Twitch Rivals content, but also fully engage in the unparalleled chat and interactivity that fuels the Twitch community,” said global CEO Lou Garate sales sponsorship at Twitch. in a statement. “While real-time streaming and e-sports continue to grow exponentially, we look forward to working with Samsung to help the gaming-dedicated audience access their Twitch Rivals content wherever and whenever they want.

Samsung and Twitch start their partnership with a live Twitch Rivals stream at 16:00 ET Wednesday before Samsung is big Unpacked Galaxy Thursday’s event. The Galaxy Unpacked event will be broadcast on the Twitch platform – you guessed it – starting at 10 am ET.
