Despite what has been announced since the afternoon of December 31, when it began to be said that there is already an agreement between Reinaldo Rueda and government football organizations in both Colombia and Chile, everything seems to indicate that negotiations between the coach and the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) have not ended.

Rueda himself came out to deny the information published by numerous national media. In a dialogue with the newspaper Antioquia El Colombiano, the technician assured that he received the news of his alleged connection with the Colombian team with surprise, since there are still problems to be agreed in the hiring process.
“Many friends called me to congratulate me, but I must say that it is not true that I am the coach of the Colombian national team,” he told the El Colombiano press.
He was already wrong: “The Colombian federation still does not confirm anything and I do not know why some journalists borrow to say that I am already the coach”, Caleño concluded. Despite the controversy surrounding Rueda’s arrival, the FCF decided to remain silent. It can be deduced that the same situation delayed the negotiations between the Federation and the possible new coffee coach.
