Wide receiver Josh Gordon was added to the Seahawks list on Monday, but on Tuesday he announced that he will not be in line when they face the Rams this weekend.
Gordon returned to the exempt list because he did not meet the conditions for reinstatement from a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Phaw Carroll, Seahawks’ head coach, did not elaborate on what changed Gordon’s status, but suggested he could play for the team in week 17.
“Certainly disappointed not to have him for his sake and for a lot of things, but we will stay with him and see what’s going on next week”Said Carroll, through Curtis Crabtree from KJR and PFT.
Gordon will be able to attend team meetings and do individual training, which was the case in the first two weeks after the conditional reinstatement.
