Mark Hamill reacts to his appearance at the end of the “Mandalorian” season

(This article contains major spoilers for the end of season 2 “The Mandalorian”)

The original Luke Skywalker, played by none other than Mark Hamill, finally had something to say about his wonderful cameo at the end of the season of “The Mandalorian”.

“The fact that I managed to keep my involvement a secret for over a year, without leaks, is nothing short of a miracle,” Hamill said. posted on Twitter Saturday. “A real triumph for spoiler-haters everywhere!”

The young Jedi Master appeared at such an exciting and heartbreaking moment – he saved Mando and Grogu from Moff Gideon, but took Grogu from his adopted space father.

It’s pretty cool that I had an appearance by Luke Skywalker in “The Mandalorian” – after all, he’s almost the face of the franchise, and his cameo adds extra weight to the show’s events. It’s even cooler that Lucasfilm managed to keep that massive spoiler a secret for a year.

However, you knew that though that cameo viewed just like the Jedi we know and love – and we recognize Mark Hamill’s voice a mile away – was the actor in the body Max Llyod-Jones?

Using CGI to get Mark Hamill’s young face on Lloyd-Jones’ body is the kind of thing that “Star Wars” has done several times over the years. In “Rogue One”, we got CGI versions of Grand Moff Tarkin, who played a significant role, and Leia, who was just a cameo at the very end. And in “The Rise of Skywalker”, we showed CGI Leia and CGI Luke again in a flashback when Luke trained her as a Jedi.

We don’t know right now whether or not we’ll see Lloyd-Jones or even hear Mark Hamill’s voice again. As far as we know, Lucasfilm could completely meet our expectations and, finally, give us “Sebastian Stan as Young Luke” the fantasy of our dreams. Or maybe we won’t see Luke at all in The Mandalorian. Perhaps this was just a cornerstone for linking the “Star Wars” universes so that Mando’s story could continue.
