Once time Growth pain star Kirk Cameron hosted another Christmas carol protest with unmasked singers in the immediate vicinity. Local news indicates the number of participants at about 100. The event took place in the parking lot of The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks. It is the third such event Fire resistant actor took place this December.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 hits Ventura County hard – where the mall is located. The county recently reported the highest number of new daily Covid-19 infections, and Tuesday’s test positivity rate was 12.6%, which is higher than that of adjacent LA county.

Cameron promoted every event on social media as part of a movement called Sing It Louder USA, which claims that “He sings Christmas carols in US communities … in response to government tyrants telling us how to celebrate Christmas.”
Oaks posted a statement calling the event “irresponsible but constitutionally protected” and said he had asked protesters not to gather in his parking lot.
We do not accept this irresponsible peaceful protest event – however constitutionally protected – planned. We share your concern and have informed the sheriff’s office. We also approached the event planner to ask them not to use The Oaks as a venue.

Many online commentators pointed out that the mall could have closed the protest.
“To be clear,” one person wrote on Twitter, “there is no constitutional right to protest PRIVATE PROPERTY. You can fire them if you choose. The threat to public health is a 100% valid reason to protect your employees and employers who wear masks. “
The deadline reached The Oaks owner, Macerich Properties, for a reaction to these comments, but he did not hear.
