Federal authorities invite you to report if you have committed PUA fraud

The head of the US Attorney’s Office in Puerto Rico, Stephen Muldrow, called on anyone who committed Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) fraud to communicate with federal authorities and avoid further consequences.

During a press conference to detail a series of arrests of people for committing fraud on such a government program, Muldrow also invited anyone who knows of a similar plan to do the same.

“I want to send a message to people who know of others who have suffered this type of scheme and I have not yet accused them: call the authorities and file a complaint,” said Muldrow of the Hato Rey Prosecutor’s Office.

“For people who have engaged in these types of schemes and have not yet charged them, as I have recommended on previous occasions, contact law enforcement agencies and provide their information. The faster he speaks, the smaller the consequences. your family may suffer, “he added.

The expressions appeared during a press conference to provide details about the arrest of nine people for committing fraud at the PUA, which were part of a plan that includes a total of about 12 people.
