On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers made a shocking deal, giving up the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, along with two additional first-round picks and a third-round pick for the Dolphins for this year’s third pick. With this trade, Jimmy Garoppolo’s future is in question.
Even though the Chicago Bears have their new QB1, CBS Sports has Chicago as the top landing point for Garoppolo.
It is rumored that Bears is in the game for Russell Wilson. Knowing this, there is a good chance that Andy Dalton will give up if the opportunity arises to update the position.
Publicly, the 49ers have committed to Garoppolo and do not intend to trade him. That alone would close any trade with Chicago. But if the 49ers design a defender, that seems likely, that would change.
