American teen caught on hiatus after sentenced in prison for exiting Cayman Islands quarantine

An American college student who ended up behind bars in the Cayman Islands for four months for dropping the COVID-19 quarantine to see her beautiful jet ski just taking a break.

Skylar Mack of Georgia – whose grandmother had written a letter to President Trump asking him to help her granddaughter – was cut in half by a local court on Tuesday, according to the Cayman Compass.

Mack’s friend, competitive jet skier Vanjae Ramreken, who was accused of helping her break through isolation, also had his sentence cut in half, the outlet said.

Mack, an 18-year-old pre-med student at Mercer University in Atlanta, and Ramreken have been behind bars since December 16.

She arrived in the Cayman Islands on November 27 to visit her boyfriend and had to remain in quarantine for 14 days wearing the required visitor’s wristband.

But after just two days of isolation, Mack made the mistake of sliding off the device and looking at Ramreken.

She violated isolation protocol a day after the government increased its sentences for such measures. Ramagnet was charged with complicity in her mala fide behavior.

The couple had been sentenced to four months in prison on December 15, but appealed the decision.

Mack’s grandmother, Jeanne Mack, told NBC-TV’s’ Today ‘show on Monday that her granddaughter is’ crying, she wants to come home.

She knows she made a mistake. She’s true, but she’s pretty hysterical right now, ” said Mack, writing to Trump hoping for help.
